The Community Network Council (CNC) was proud to attend Healthy Kids Day®, the YMCA’s long‑standing national initiative dedicated to improving the health and well‑being of children and families. For more than 30 years, YMCAs across the country have hosted this free annual event each April, creating a space where kids and families can stay active, learn, and build healthy habits that last through the summer and beyond.
At this year’s event, CNC connected with families, educators, and youth‑serving organizations from across South King County. Our team engaged parents in conversations about the resources available through CNC, including educational support, family engagement programs, and community partnerships that help young people thrive academically and socially.
Healthy Kids Day® also provided a valuable opportunity for CNC to network with local community leaders. We met representatives from schools, youth programs, health organizations, and civic groups who share our commitment to supporting children’s success. These conversations opened the door to potential collaborations around family engagement, professional development for educators, and community‑centered initiatives that strengthen trust and safety for youth.
By participating in Healthy Kids Day®, CNC reinforced its role as a community‑based organization dedicated to uplifting children and families in Kent and the surrounding region. We look forward to continuing the relationships formed at the event and working alongside partners who share our vision for a healthier, more connected community.
