On April 16, 2026, the Community Network Council (CNC) joined Community Health Workers, service providers, and local partners from across King County for a powerful day of connection and collaboration. The event brought together organizations committed to improving the health, stability, and educational outcomes of families throughout the region—an effort that aligns closely with CNC’s mission in Kent and South King County.

Throughout the event, CNC engaged in meaningful conversations with Community Health Workers who are on the front lines supporting families with housing stability, food access, mental health resources, and culturally responsive care. These discussions highlighted the shared challenges our communities face, as well as the opportunities to work together to strengthen support systems for youth and families.

CNC attends Seattle YMCA Healthy Kids Day 2026 https://wacnc.org/2026/04/29/cnc-attends-seattle-ymca-healthy-kids-day-2026/ https://wacnc.org/2026/04/29/cnc-attends-seattle-ymca-healthy-kids-day-2026/#respond Wed, 29 Apr 2026 02:32:02 +0000 https://wacnc.org/?p=2010

The Community Network Council (CNC) was proud to attend Healthy Kids Day®, the YMCA’s long‑standing national initiative dedicated to improving the health and well‑being of children and families. For more than 30 years, YMCAs across the country have hosted this free annual event each April, creating a space where kids and families can stay active, learn, and build healthy habits that last through the summer and beyond.

At this year’s event, CNC connected with families, educators, and youth‑serving organizations from across South King County. Our team engaged parents in conversations about the resources available through CNC, including educational support, family engagement programs, and community partnerships that help young people thrive academically and socially.

Healthy Kids Day® also provided a valuable opportunity for CNC to network with local community leaders. We met representatives from schools, youth programs, health organizations, and civic groups who share our commitment to supporting children’s success. These conversations opened the door to potential collaborations around family engagement, professional development for educators, and community‑centered initiatives that strengthen trust and safety for youth.

By participating in Healthy Kids Day®, CNC reinforced its role as a community‑based organization dedicated to uplifting children and families in Kent and the surrounding region. We look forward to continuing the relationships formed at the event and working alongside partners who share our vision for a healthier, more connected community.
